Tess has 17 years’ experience in many different massage techniques and is skilled in adapting her treatment to the client’s unique needs. She uses a technique derived from Swedish massage which involves a firm but gentle pressure to improve circulation, ease muscle aches and tension, increase flexibility and create relaxation.

Tess is certified in Sports Massage, Reflexology, Lymphatic Drainage, Swedish Body Massage and Anatomy and Physiology. In addition, she is qualified as a General Beauty Therapist. For the last ten years, Tess has been employed as a massage therapist at the Four Seasons Hotel. Prior to that she worked at the Peninsula Hotel, the Mandarin Oriental and the Excelsior Hotel.

Remedial massage (also known as sports or deep tissue massage) targets specific areas of pain or immobility. It is geared toward athletes of every kind, from world-class professionals to weekend joggers. The massage movements focus on areas of the body that are overused and stressed from repetitive and often aggressive movements.

Therapeutic massage can be either stimulating or soothing depending on the technique, depth and speed of the treatment. It mobilises the soft tissues (muscle, fascia and lymph) to promote overall wellbeing by boosting the circulatory, lymphatic and neurological systems. This has numerous benefits in terms of stress relief, better muscle and skin tone, and a stronger immune system. It is especially valuable during and after pregnancy.

Pregnant women have often received ambivalent responses from the health community regarding the safety and purpose of massage during pregnancy, however modern investigation and research shows that prenatal massage therapy can be a very instrumental ingredient in women’s prenatal care. Studies indicate that massage therapy performed during pregnancy can reduce anxiety, decrease symptoms of depression, relieve muscle aches and joint pains, and improve labour outcomes and newborn health.

Another massage that we recommend during and after pregnancy is lymphatic drainage therapy (LDT). LDT is excellent for decreasing swelling, especially of the lower legs, ankles and feet, a common ailment during pregnancy. It also boosts the immune system and helps the body to detoxify. This treatment is also especially effective after injury or surgery. In addition it can help to remove cellulite, improve sleep and give a greater sense of wellbeing.

Foot reflexology is similarly a very effective way to aid healing. It induces a deep state of relaxation, helps eliminate toxins, stimulates the central nervous system and boosts energy.

Tess’s wide experience in the field of massage and her sensitive, holistic approach enable her to give each client a very personalised and effective treatment.

For years I had a lot of puffiness on my tummy after giving birth. I had to have a c-section and no matter how much exercise did, my tummy would not get flat. I saw Caroline for scar release to my c-section and the after the scar tissue was broken up, she sent me to Tess for fascia massage. It was vigour and I could feel my blood flow coming back to the area. My tummy gradually looked less bumpy and the area because more firm. I was so surprised. I now see Tess regular for fascia massage all over my body. I feel that I’m really taking care of my health and I feel my body looks just as good as before my pregnancy

For years I had pigmentation problems and scarring from acne that made me feel self conscious about my looks. I felt so insecure I would even avoid areas that had bad lighting because of how my skin looked. I spent thousands of dollars going to the best dermatologist having incredibly painful fraxel lasers and after 10 sessions, there was no change. I tried microdermabrasions and that helped a little. When I had my first micro-needling I found it to be surprisingly tolerable. In fact, it wasn’t really that painful except across my forehead where it stung a little. The first session was amazing. I looked so much better and my skin glowed. I have not had 6 session on my face and I can hardly see those scars that have been with me for over 35 years. I feel so pretty. The areas of pigment changes are almost gone, along with the fine wrinkles around my eyes. I love this treatment. It’s fast, there is no downtime and I now have the confidence to go out and I feel so beautiful. Tess, Thank you for helping me in ways that no dermatologist has ever helped me. I’m so grateful for you professional care.
