Thank your tremendously for introducing the GAPS book to me.

My son has been on a GF/CF diet since June and we noticed big improvement in his behavior following - his moods have been more even, his focus has been greater, and we've had less irritation overall.  However, because he is allergic to eggs, we continued to feed him oatmeal (gluten free, prepared with water and a small amount of rice milk) for breakfast.  We did notice, that even with the GF/CF diet in place, our mornings were always difficult, and that my son's mood inexplicably improved as the day progressed.  (Worth noting, as well, is that when we went on holiday and were unable to maintain the GF/CF - my son was like a drug addict with the croissants - all of the "crazed" behavior returned, many fold.)

The morning after reading the GAPS book I decided to, as a trial, eliminate the oatmeal for a few days.  Concerned about his caloric intake, I doubled up on breakfast sausage (no preservatives and/or chemicals).  The results were nearly immediate and quite remarkable.  On the same day I noticed that the morning (generally his cranky period) went very smoothly, no temper flare-ups, and he was far more cooperative, talkative and cheerful than usual.  Impressed, I called my husband to report these results realizing that we were on to something.  The next day (Saturday) we tried again, and again a much calmer, much happier child, which my skeptical husband saw for himself.   Obviously we have now eliminated oatmeal from his already GF/CF diet - in many ways it has made our life much easier.

We have yet to implement the rest of the GAPS diet, but we'll get there.  Happily it has already brought us one step closer to recovering my son.
